Newlyweds Jana Duggar and Stephen Wissman are in the process of renovating their new home together after tying the knot earlier this month. The couple shared the journey with their fans through footage posted on YouTube, showcasing the “fixer upper” house in Nebraska that they are working on. The house is spacious, with two floors, five bedrooms, and full bathrooms on both levels, as well as various other spaces including a living and dining room, kitchen, basement, and utility/laundry room.

Jana and Wissman outlined their plans to convert two adjacent bedrooms into a larger master bedroom and ensuite. They plan to combine the two rooms, removing a closet and door to make the bedroom bigger, with the smaller room becoming the primary bathroom. Additionally, they noted a large space downstairs that could be transformed into a game room or in-home theater. Jana enlisted the help of her dad and some of her youngest sisters, such as Jennifer, for “Demo Day,” where they ripped up carpets and pulled down gyprock walls.

Wissman’s hometown in Nebraska is where Jana is setting down roots after the couple’s wedding in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Wissman is a pastor and bible study leader at East Fairview Mennonite Church in Milford, Nebraska. While it is still the early stages of the renovation, Jana expressed excitement about the home transformation journey. In an interview, she mentioned that they have been fixing up the house they bought and getting it pulled together, noting that it has been a fun experience for them.

Jana and Stephen exchanged vows on August 15 in a ceremony where Jana’s sister, Jessa Duggar Seewald, served as her maid of honor. Other sisters, including Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, and Jordyn Duggar, were bridesmaids, along with her sister-in-law, Abbie, who is married to Jana’s twin brother, John-David Duggar. Jana’s father, Jim Bob, had the honor of walking her down the aisle at the wedding.

The couple’s plans for the renovation include creating a primary bedroom suite by combining two adjacent bedrooms and transforming the space into a larger bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Jana and Wissman are also considering turning a large area downstairs into a game room or in-home theater. The renovation process involves the help of family members, with Jana’s dad and younger sisters pitching in for “Demo Day” to assist with ripping up carpets and walls.

Jana Duggar, known for her appearances on reality shows like “19 Kids and Counting” and “Counting On,” is embracing the transition to Nebraska, where her new home with Wissman is located. Wissman’s role as a pastor and bible study leader at a local church in Nebraska has solidified their ties to the community. The couple’s shared excitement for the renovation project and the prospect of creating their dream home together is evident in their commitment to the process and the help they have received from loved ones along the way.
