Metallica frontman James Hetfield recently revealed a new tattoo in memory of the late rocker, Lemmy, from Motörhead, using some of Lemmy’s ashes. The tattoo features Motörhead’s famous “Ace of Spades” logo, made with black ink mixed with Lemmy’s cremation ashes. The tattoo is on the middle finger of Hetfield’s right hand, allowing it to be visible while mimicking Lemmy’s pose of flipping the bird as a salute to his friend and inspiration, Lemmy Kilmister.

According to Hetfield, without Lemmy, there would be no Metallica. Lemmy was a rock pioneer who passed away from cancer in 2016 at the age of 70. The tattoo was done by prominent tattoo artist Corey Miller, the owner of Six Feet Under in Upland, Calif., who was featured in the reality show “LA Ink.” Motörhead was known for being pioneers of heavy metal in the UK and released 22 albums, including their iconic “Ace of Spades” album in 1980.

Hetfield has previously stated that without Lemmy, Metallica wouldn’t exist. Lemmy was seen as a statue of a man who was immortal, and his death was a shock to Hetfield, leaving him wondering where their captain was now. Lemmy’s presence made Hetfield feel like everything was going to be okay, and he was considered a godfather to Metallica. When Lemmy passed away, it created a sense of urgency in the band to live life to the fullest and appreciate every moment they had.

The influence that Lemmy had on Metallica was profound, inspiring them to continue creating music and connecting with their fans. Lemmy’s passing made the band realize how blessed they were to be able to do what they love and to soak up every moment on stage with their fans. The tattoo that Hetfield got in memory of Lemmy serves as a constant reminder of the impact that Lemmy had on Metallica’s career and the legacy he left behind. Lemmy will always hold a special place in the hearts of Metallica and their fans, and his memory will continue to live on through their music and performances.
