Yerbin Benjamin Lozada Munoz, a suspected member of Venezuela’s Tren De Aragua gang, was recently arrested with a group of armed migrant squatters in a Bronx apartment. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Long Island by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Lozada will remain in custody until his removal proceedings.

Officials stated that Lozada first entered the US at Eagle Pass, Texas in October 2022 and was later released into the US due to overcrowding. He was among eight individuals arrested by the NYPD in the Bronx after one of them pointed a 9 mm CZ pistol at someone on the property they had taken over. Following separate hearings, Lozada and two others were released on supervised release.

This incident has alerted federal authorities to the presence of suspected gang members in the United States, raising concerns about criminal activity and violence associated with these individuals. The arrest of Lozada highlights the need for enhanced immigration enforcement and oversight to prevent dangerous criminals from entering and remaining in the country.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate action to address any potential threats posed by individuals associated with criminal gangs. Efforts are being made to ensure the safety and security of the community by identifying and apprehending those who engage in criminal activities or pose a risk to public safety.

The cooperation between local law enforcement agencies, such as the NYPD, and federal authorities has been crucial in apprehending individuals involved in criminal activities. By working together, these agencies can effectively target and arrest dangerous criminals, ensuring that they are held accountable for their actions and prevented from causing harm to others.

It is important for the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to law enforcement authorities. By staying informed and cooperating with authorities, communities can help prevent and combat criminal activities such as gang violence and human smuggling, safeguarding the wellbeing of residents and visitors alike. Efforts to enhance border security and immigration enforcement are essential to keeping communities safe from criminal elements and protecting public safety.
