Rebel Wilson recently named Sacha Baron Cohen as the “massive asshole” who has threatened to block her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising. Wilson revealed on Instagram that a chapter in her book is dedicated to an individual she once worked with who she describes as a “massive asshole.” She stated that she has a “no assholes” policy when it comes to working with people, and the reason for this policy is detailed in her book. Wilson claimed that she is being threatened by the person she referred to in her book, who has hired a PR manager and lawyers in an attempt to prevent information from being released about her book.

Wilson later identified Sacha Baron Cohen as the person she was talking about, revealing that he had tried to pressure her into various uncomfortable situations during their work together. The two stars appeared as husband and wife in the 2016 comedy film The Brothers Grimsby, where Wilson claimed that Baron Cohen pushed her to strip down in a scene, even going so far as to bring in a body double for a naked scene. Wilson also alleged that Baron Cohen wanted her to stick her finger up his butt during a scene, even though it was not part of the script. Despite feeling uncomfortable, Wilson ultimately compromised to avoid being labeled as difficult and agreed to slap him once on the butt instead.

Wilson has declared that she will not be bullied or silenced by any threats, stating that her book will be released as planned and that the truth will be known. She asserted that she will not allow herself to be pressured by high-priced lawyers or PR crisis managers. The actress recounted her experiences working with Baron Cohen in interviews, where she detailed the uncomfortable situations she was put in and the pressure she faced. Wilson’s claims have not been responded to by Baron Cohen’s representatives, as they did not provide a comment at the time of publication. It remains to be seen how this dispute will unfold as Wilson’s memoir continues to generate attention.
