Brad Simpson, the husband of missing Texas mom Suzanne Simpson, has recently been charged with murder in connection to his wife’s disappearance. Suzanne, a 51-year old mother of four and luxury real estate agent, has been missing for over a month. Brad had previously been charged with prohibited weapons, evidence tampering, unlawful restraint, and bodily injury to a family member, with a total bond of $5 million leading up to the murder charge. Investigators have not found Suzanne’s body, but there is enough evidence to charge Brad with her murder.

Authorities have conducted extensive searches for Suzanne, including in Olmos Park, surrounding wooded areas, and a landfill in southeast Bexar County. Suzanne’s mother has expressed her belief that Suzanne is no longer alive. Suzanne disappeared on October 6 after allegedly fighting with Brad in Olmos Park. Witnesses reported seeing the couple fighting, with Suzanne trying to get away from Brad’s grasp as he tried to pull her downwards. Their daughter Chandler has stated publicly that her mother was a victim of abuse at the hands of her father, who she believes took her mother’s life in a state of rage and control.

Brad’s longtime friend and business partner, James “Val” Cotter, has also been arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and possessing a prohibited weapon in connection to Suzanne’s disappearance. Cotter allegedly hid Brad’s gun after receiving ominous texts from Brad just days after Suzanne went missing. Prior to the murder charge, Brad’s attorney had called the previous charges against his client “ludicrous” and suggested that the case was an attempt to keep Brad in custody. Brad has denied these charges, and his arraignment hearing is scheduled for November 13.

While there has been no mention of finding Suzanne’s body, Texas rangers were able to gather sufficient evidence to charge Brad with her murder. Brad’s brother has expressed gratitude for the professionalism of law enforcement in handling the situation, stating that the charges bring some peace to the family and allow them to focus on grieving and rebuilding their lives for the sake of the children and extended family. The couple’s youngest child had reported to school staff that her parents had been fighting, with her father allegedly striking her mother and possibly pushing her into a wall. The arrest affidavit is sealed for 30 days, and Brad is being held on a high bond leading up to his arraignment.

Suzanne’s disappearance has caused shock and grief within her family and the community. The tragic situation has brought to light allegations of abuse within the Simpson family, with their daughter Chandler speaking out about her mother’s treatment by Brad. As the legal proceedings continue, more details about Suzanne’s disappearance and the events leading up to it are expected to come to light. The search for Suzanne’s body and the investigation into her disappearance are ongoing, with authorities committed to bringing justice and closure to the case.
