College football teams were stranded on flooded interstates as a result of the hurricane, prompting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to send air assets to assist in North Carolina.

Governor Cooper announced that the death toll of 11 is expected to rise as search teams reach areas isolated by the storm. Residents are urged to avoid traveling on roadways in western North Carolina to allow clear paths for emergency vehicles.
