A serious accident occurred on the D-400 highway in the district of Serik at around 07:15 in the morning. The shuttle bus, driven by Osman Ali Kaplan, who was taking hotel staff, swerved to avoid hitting a car that suddenly appeared in front of him, causing the bus to first hit the median strip and then crash into the wire fence before tipping over due to the slippery road caused by the rain.

Following the accident, a large number of ambulances, fire brigade, and police teams were dispatched after the notification. The injured passengers were taken to Serik State Hospital and private hospitals after receiving initial treatment.

The minibus driver, Osman Ali Kaplan, stated, “I was driving at a speed of 70 km/h. A taxi suddenly cut in front of me. When I lightly applied the brakes, the vehicle slid towards the median strip and tipped over. There were 19 passengers inside.”

An eyewitness named Mehmet Şükür said, “When the driver pressed the brakes, the car tipped over. We called 112 and told them it was a hotel shuttle. They arrived and provided assistance.”

The accident serves as a reminder of the importance of driving safely, especially in adverse weather conditions. Authorities have urged drivers to pay attention, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and drive at a safe speed to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of themselves and others on the road. Following the accident, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.
