The best lead actress in a musical nominees included Eden Espinosa, Maleah Joi Moon, and Kelli O’Hara. Bebe Neuwirth received a nomination for best featured actress in a musical for her role in Cabaret At The Kit Kat Club. In the best original score category, David Byrne, Fatboy Slim, and others were nominated for their work on various musicals.

Best play nominees included Jocelyn Bioh, Amy Herzog, and Paula Vogel. Best revival of a musical nominees included Cabaret At The Kit Kat Club and Merrily We Roll Along. Appropriate, An Enemy Of The People, and Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through The Cotton Patch were nominated for Best Revival Of A Play.
