Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s father, Rod Blanchard, expressed his lack of surprise over his daughter’s reported separation from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. He mentioned that he had doubts about the longevity of their relationship, given Gypsy’s impulsive nature. Rod emphasized that Gypsy should take things slow as she adjusts to life outside of prison, including her relationship with Anderson, and offered his support if things didn’t work out between them.

The couple reportedly ended their relationship about three months after Gypsy was released from prison. Gypsy announced their separation on Facebook and expressed her need for time to discover herself. The couple had met in 2020 while Gypsy was serving her sentence for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. They got married in 2022 and seemed happy at public events, including the premiere of Lifetime’s “Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.”

Prior to their separation, Gypsy made headlines for defending their relationship and bragging about their sex life on social media. In Instagram comments, she expressed her love for Anderson and their family while shutting down haters. Gypsy had served seven years of her sentence for plotting her mother’s murder with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn. She had experienced years of abuse at the hands of her mother, who suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Her difficult past, which included physical, mental, and verbal abuse, inspired various media adaptations, including the HBO documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest” and the Hulu series “The Act.” Gypsy recently deleted her public social media accounts, possibly indicating a desire for privacy and self-reflection. Despite her challenging upbringing and her involvement in a high-profile crime, Gypsy seems focused on moving forward and finding herself after her release from prison.
