Last year was a tough year for commercial real estate in Montauk, causing a decrease in new hotel openings in the Hamptons. However, the upcoming 2024 season promises to be exciting, with debut hotels like the Zey Hotel in Greenport, the Grassmere Inn in Westhampton reopening as Seven Beach Lane, and Canoe Place in Hampton Bays revitalizing as a cultural hub with its Front Row Series. These new additions offer travelers a chance to experience luxury accommodations and unique programming, making it an ideal destination for the summer season.

A highly anticipated debut in June is the new construction project by Peconic Equities in Hampton Bays. The former Grassmere Inn will be transformed into a high-end hotel with a glassy extension, an added pool, a restaurant, fun programming, and extensive landscaping. With a significant investment of over $14 million, this Victorian property is set to become a gem near the beach, managed by The Surf Lodge’s Ben Levine. As one of the few new constructions in the area this season, this project is generating a lot of buzz and excitement for visitors.

The Marram in Montauk is a luxurious resort located amidst an $11 million beach-restoration project, offering guests a screen-free approach to the Hamptons lifestyle. With high-quality amenities such as Frette linens, Tuft & Needle Mint mattresses, and walk-in showers, guests can enjoy activities like outdoor yoga, surf lessons, poolside relaxation, and South American cuisine at Mostrador. Additional experiences like guided meditation, crystal workshops, and tarot readings provide a rejuvenating escape for guests looking to align their chakras and refresh their spirits.

In the heart of Westhampton, the Grassmere Inn, now known as Seven Beach Lane, has undergone significant renovations to enhance the guest experience. With 90 rooms and suites upgraded with Tempur-Pedic mattresses and Matouk linens, the inn offers guests access to a heated pool, croquet, pickleball, tennis, and on-site dining at Claude’s Restaurant. The property also hosts Sunday Summer Salons, an interactive speaking series featuring notable personalities like Joy Behar, providing guests with engaging cultural experiences during their stay.

Journey East, located between Amagansett and East Hampton, is a coastal-chic retreat known for its understated luxury and convenient access to high-end shopping destinations like Chanel, Gucci, and Prada. With 25 rooms and suites designed with simplicity in mind, guests can relax by the heated saltwater pool, enjoy outdoor activities on the lawn, and experience new amenities like on-property co-working and yoga cottages. The property offers a serene atmosphere for guests to unwind after a day of shopping in the Hamptons.

In Greenport, Zach Erdem has expanded his hospitality empire to the North Fork with the opening of The Zey Hotel. This boutique property offers 10 rooms and suites with vibrant artwork, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and access to a garden, game room, and movie nights. Guests can indulge in Turkish pastries at Bourdon Patisserie & Artisan Bakery and enjoy a lively dining scene at ZErdem across the street. With its contemporary design and exciting culinary offerings, The Zey Hotel adds a new level of sophistication to the North Fork hospitality scene.
