Maverik service station near Utah’s Salt Lake City International Airport was named “America’s Best Restroom” of 2024 in a contest hosted by Cintas, a corporate uniform and products company. The public voted on various criteria, such as cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality, and unique design elements, and Maverik was recognized for its commitment to cleanliness and comfort. John Rudy, senior director of marketing at Cintas, praised Maverik for their high standard of cleanliness, touchless fixtures, spacious stalls, and family-friendly features that enhance the overall customer experience.

The facility at Maverik features a hiking-themed ambiance with depictions of blue skies, snow-capped mountains, woodsy textures, and reflective bodies of water. Maverik’s Chief Retail Officer Ryan Boothe expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the importance of clean and comforting restrooms for motorists. Maverik aims to provide a consistently clean stop across its more than 500 locations, along with offering freshly prepared food, extensive beverage options, and great fuel discounts. Boothe attributed the award to the hard work of their dedicated team members who strive to maintain a superior level of cleanliness for their customers.

In addition to being recognized as having the cleanest gas station restrooms in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah by USA Today, Maverik has now achieved the title of “America’s Best Restroom” of 2024, joining the likes of Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport in the Hall of Fame. The award comes with a range of prizes from Cintas, including the use of the Cintas UltraClean restroom cleaning service and $2,500 in Cintas products and services. Previous winners of the award were also noted, with Maverik taking its place alongside other esteemed restrooms.

The top 10 finalists for the 2024 “America’s Best Restroom” award included a diverse range of locations such as Hop Shops in Florence, Kentucky, Indiana Caverns in Corydon, Indiana, and Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Maverik has now been recognized for its dedication to providing a hygienic and comforting atmosphere for its patrons, alongside offering a range of amenities and services. The competition highlights the importance of clean and appealing restrooms in enhancing the overall customer experience and contributing to a positive impression for visitors.

New York has yet to make the official list of “America’s Best Restroom” finalists, but the plush potties at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 4 in Queens caused a stir a few years ago when they floated into the Top 10. The competition hosted by Cintas continues to celebrate and recognize establishments that go above and beyond in providing clean, innovative, and welcoming restroom facilities for the public. Maverik’s achievement in winning the award for 2024 cements its commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and comfort for its customers, creating a pleasant environment for all who visit their locations.
