In addition to the firefighter’s death, an employee of an energy company was critically injured after suffering an electric shock in Freising, Upper Bavaria. Concerns about several missing people have been raised in the wake of extreme rainfall, with 3,000 individuals evacuated from flooded areas in Bavaria. The German Meteorological Service reported record-breaking rainfall in some southern regions, with some areas receiving more than a month’s worth of rain within 24 hours.
