A 23-year-old Florida woman, Alyssa Ann Zinger, was arrested for posing as a 14-year-old girl online to meet and molest a teenage boy. Zinger engaged in sexual acts with at least one middle school student between the ages of 12 and 15 and sent explicit videos to several more victims. Additional charges were filed after four more victims came forward in the case. The accused predator created a fake persona on social media and communicated with the minors mainly through Snapchat, who attended Wilson Middle School in Tampa’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Following her first arrest, Zinger was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and five counts of lewd or lascivious molestation. Authorities later added two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, two counts of lewd or lascivious battery, possession of child pornography, in-state transmission of child pornography by electronic device, and sexual cyber harassment. The victims reported that Zinger had sex multiple times with one of them, while she also sent explicit photos and videos. Additionally, Zinger sent a video to several children through Snapchat depicting sexual intercourse and told one victim she had sex with other teens.
Zinger and one of the victims were caught shoplifting at a Nordstrom in July, during which she lied about her birth year to the officers handling the case. Police had been investigating Zinger for about a year, revealing she lied about her identity by reviewing school and employment records and confirming her adult status with her employer at Tampa Publix. Despite Zinger’s attempts to maintain a fake identity, authorities uncovered the truth through thorough background checks and investigations. A victim eventually came forward about Zinger’s alleged crimes just three months after her initial arrest.
