London-based tech company Nothing has recently launched two new pairs of earbuds, the Nothing Ear and the more affordable Nothing Ear (a). These earbuds are now available for pre-order and will go on sale from Monday, April 22. Customers in London can also purchase them early at the Nothing Store Soho from Saturday, April 20.

A unique feature of these new earbuds is their integration with ChatGPT, which allows users to directly interact with the AI assistant by pinching the earbud. This feature aims to enhance the user experience and simplify interactions with AI technology. Nothing plans to continue advancing consumer tech by incorporating AI into its audio and smartphone products to improve functionality and convenience for users.

Despite the broad compatibility of the earbuds with both iPhone and Android devices, the ChatGPT integration is currently limited to Nothing handsets. Specifically, the feature is available for the Nothing Phone (2) model with the latest software update. Older models like the Nothing Phone (1) and the more affordable Nothing Phone (2a) will receive the update in the near future to enable this functionality. Additionally, compatibility with earlier Nothing earbuds, such as the Ear (1), Ear (2), and Ear (Stick), will be introduced later on.

The Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) earbuds are priced competitively at $149 and $99, respectively, with active noise-cancelling features uncommon at these price points. The Ear model includes a wireless charging case and a personal sound profile customization feature, while the Ear (a) model offers an additional vibrant yellow-finish option. Both pairs are available in black and white finishes with Nothing’s signature transparent design in the earbuds and charging case.
