A fire broke out on a 107-meter-long dry cargo ship with a Barbados flag at the Akbaş location in Varna Port. Upon receiving the notification, the Coast Guard dispatched the Rescue-13, Rescue-3, and TÜRKELİ tugboats along with the KIYEM-1 fast rescue boat to the area to extinguish the fire.
Thanks to the efforts of the Coast Guard, the fire on the ship was successfully extinguished. After the fire was put out, the suspended ship traffic resumed as the ship was towed north-south direction.
The cause of the fire on the dry cargo ship is currently unknown. The Coast Guard is investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire and ensure the safety of other ships in the area. No casualties were reported as a result of the fire.
