A fire broke out in a mountainous area in the grassland and shrubbery field in the Başarap region of Koçyatağı village in the district. Upon notification, 6 firefighting teams, 10 land rovers belonging to the Afyonkarahisar Forestry Directorate, and firefighting helicopters from Denizli were dispatched to the scene.

With the help of 100 personnel and 150 citizens, a struggle was carried out against the fire spreading in the mountainous area due to the wind. Thanks to the intervention of the teams, the fire in the area was brought under control. Unfortunately, the fire caused damage to 30 hectares of pasture and shrubbery land.

Efforts are still ongoing as teams continue the cooling operations in the mountainous area. The quick response and collaboration between firefighting teams, forestry authorities, and local citizens played a crucial role in containing the fire and preventing further damage to the natural surroundings.
