A fire broke out in a container used as a dormitory by workers at a construction site near the village of İndere for unknown reasons. The fire quickly spread to some nearby containers. Upon notification, gendarmerie, firefighting, and health teams were dispatched to the area.
The workers remaining in the containers were quickly evacuated, and gendarmerie teams took security measures in the surrounding area. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by the intervention of the firefighting teams.
Governor Osman Varol, who conducted inspections in the region, stated to journalists that the fire had been completely extinguished and cooling efforts were ongoing. Extending his wishes for a speedy recovery, Varol mentioned, “According to preliminary assessments, the fire originated from an electrical malfunction in the roof of the dormitory section. A total of 461 workers were staying in the dormitory. The workers were evacuated quickly and safely as soon as the fire started. Currently, we have no injured or casualties. Furthermore, all workers have been relocated to other dormitories on the construction site.”
AK Party Adıyaman Deputy Mustafa Alkayış and other officials also visited the site to conduct inspections and offer assistance. It is still unclear what caused the fire in the container dormitory, but investigations are being carried out to determine the exact cause. Security measures continue to be in place to prevent any further incidents or accidents from occurring in the area. The quick response of the authorities and the successful evacuation of the workers likely prevented any major injuries or loss of life. The situation is now under control, and efforts are focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of the workers involved.
