FBI agents returned to two upstate New York horse farms for a second time to search for bodies in connection to ongoing federal investigations into the Gambino crime family. The farms, located in Goshen and Campbell Hall, were raided last year after a tipster claimed that bodies were buried on the properties. The recent search involved the FBI, New York State Police, NYPD, excavators, a police K9 unit, and a New York City medical examiner. It is unclear if anything was found during this latest search.

Both farms were previously owned by Giovanni DiLorenzo, who shares the same last name as one of the 10 alleged mafiosi from the Gambino crime family indicted in November for using violent tactics to take over New York City’s garbage hauling and demolition industry. The current owner of the Campbell Hall farm is Viviane DiLorenzo, while the Goshen farm is owned by GDLI LLC. Salvatore DiLorenzo, also from the Gambino family, was one of those indicted on racketeering charges, focusing on extortion attempts from a garbage company and a demolition company from late 2017 onwards.

The indictment against the alleged Gambino associates includes charges of racketeering conspiracy, extortion, witness retaliation, fraud, and embezzlement. Among the defendants, Joseph Lanni, known as “Joe Brooklyn” and “Mommino,” was an alleged captain in the Gambino family, alongside three alleged soldiers, Diego “Danny” Tantillo, Angelo Gradilone (also known as “Fifi”), and James LaForte. The charges also include a vicious hammer attack that hospitalized a man, threats to saw a business owner in half, and attempted arson of a restaurant that had ejected them. The indictments carry potential sentences ranging from 20 to 180 years in prison.

The FBI has not released further information regarding the recent searches at the horse farms in upstate New York, leaving many questions unanswered about the ongoing investigations into the Gambino crime family’s activities. The two farms, located about five miles apart, have been at the center of the investigation since the initial raid last year. The presence of the FBI, New York State Police, and other law enforcement agencies underscores the seriousness of the allegations against the Gambino family members and their associates.

The connections between the two farms and the alleged members of the Gambino crime family raise suspicions about possible criminal activities linked to the properties. The presence of a medical examiner during the recent search suggests that authorities were prepared to uncover potential evidence relating to the investigation. The involvement of multiple law enforcement agencies highlights the collaborative efforts to pursue justice in cases involving organized crime and related activities.

Despite the lack of specific details disclosed by the FBI regarding the recent searches at the upstate New York horse farms, the ongoing investigations into the Gambino crime family underscore the persistence of law enforcement agencies in pursuing criminal activities. The indictments of several alleged Gambino associates on serious charges related to extortion and violence demonstrate the dangerous nature of organized crime and the efforts required to combat it effectively. The discoveries, or lack thereof, at the horse farms may provide crucial evidence in prosecuting those involved in criminal activities linked to the Gambino crime family.
