Jesse Morgan, the father of a 6-year-old New Jersey girl who died from head trauma due to a badminton accident, shared how their daughter’s faith continues to sustain their family. Lucy was a believer in Christ and expressed her understanding of God’s love in her journal. Her family prioritizes sharing the gospel with their children regularly. Jesse doubted his ability to properly articulate the gospel to Lucy, but found comfort in his blog as a way to process his grief and seek help.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Jesse explained that their family experienced a mix of emotions towards God. While they struggled with their faith and wanted to be done with God, they ultimately found themselves unable to let go. Jesse believes that God placed certain circumstances in their lives to prepare them for Lucy’s death. Two days prior to the accident, they sang a Christian song that provided solace during the darkest times. He hopes others will see the miraculous aspects of their faith amidst the tragedy.

Lucy passed away due to injuries sustained from a freak accident involving a broken badminton racket. The incident occurred while her brother was playing with the racket, which broke and struck Lucy, causing severe head trauma. Despite being transported to a hospital in Portland, Maine, Lucy tragically succumbed to her injury after being declared brain dead. The family found solace in knowing that Lucy was now with Jesus and was being cared for in heaven.

Jesse reflected on his daughter’s child-like faith and the beautiful gift it was to witness. He believes that Lucy had the faith of a mustard seed and that Jesus called children to come to him. Jesse shared that his family’s faith was not as simple as it may have appeared to others. They constantly grappled with their beliefs and questions but found that their unwavering trust in Christ was what was sustaining them during their time of loss.

The family found comfort and strength in the community’s prayers and support, acknowledging that it was Christ alone who was sustaining them. While they did not receive the miracle of bringing Lucy back, they saw God’s miracles in their midst. Jesse hopes that others will see the miraculous aspects of their faith journey and trust in the Lord. Lucy’s father emphasized the importance of not just focusing on the tragedy but also on the miraculous ways that God has shown up during their suffering.

Through sharing Lucy’s story and their faith journey, Jesse wants others to find hope in God’s sustaining power amidst tragedy. He wants people to see the transformative impact of Lucy’s child-like faith and how it continues to inspire and comfort their family. Despite the unimaginable loss, Jesse and his family continue to trust in God’s plan and seek solace in their faith.
