A video of a border collie mix named Rosie with red spots recently went viral on TikTok, prompting concern from fans over the reason for her colorful specks. Despite the speculation, Rosie is perfectly healthy and her spots were created using a dog-safe dye by her veterinarian owner. The TikTok account belonging to West Lehigh Veterinary Care is hoping to reach 10,000 followers before sharing the backstory behind Rosie’s spots. The clinic, which opened just two months ago, aims to serve furry patients, educate animal owners, and have fun on social media.

Tim Mosebey, Rosie’s owner and veterinarian of nearly 20 years, was surprised to find his dog gaining viral attention on TikTok. The video featuring Rosie, in which Mosebey is disguised as “Ordinary Girl” by Miley Cyrus, was made on a whim and only took five minutes to create. The purpose of the video was to see if Rosie could determine whether Mosebey was male or female, as some dogs are known to be fearful around males. Rosie, however, was able to correctly identify Mosebey without issue, showcasing her intelligence and attentiveness.

Rosie was rescued by Mosebey and his girlfriend from an abusive situation about a year ago, though they were unaware of any mistreatment at the time. The previous owner had reportedly given up on Rosie, leading to her new family taking her in and providing a loving and caring environment. Rosie now accompanies one of her parents to work almost every day and enjoys the company of her two canine siblings, three cats, and a horse. The West Lehigh Veterinary Care TikTok account plans to share more about Rosie’s past and personality with her growing fanbase in the future.

Despite initial concerns from social media spectators, Rosie’s red spots were found to be harmless and the result of a dog-safe dye used by her owners for fun. The viral TikTok video featuring Rosie and Mosebey was a lighthearted experiment to test Rosie’s ability to distinguish between male and female individuals. Rosie, being the intelligent and attentive pup that she is, was able to correctly identify Mosebey without hesitation. The attention garnered by Rosie’s video has helped bring awareness to the new West Lehigh Veterinary Care clinic and its commitment to serving furry patients and educating pet owners on social media.
