A fire broke out in a chemical factory on 10026 Street in Izmir Ataturk Organized Industrial Zone for unknown reasons. The fire, which was reported to have started in the spray filling unit, caused explosions and shattered windows of some buildings in the vicinity. The factory was evacuated, and a large number of firefighting teams intervened in the fire.

Two people who were affected by the smoke were taken to Cigli Education Research Hospital by ambulance, but it was reported that their lives were not in danger. A parked car in front of the factory and a light commercial vehicle also caught fire and became unusable.

Firefighters were seen using foam water to intervene in the flammable materials spreading from the factory in front of the building and in the sewer. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Director Yaşar Korkmaz stated to journalists that the fire, which started with an explosion about 2.5 hours ago, was intervened with 15 vehicles and 75 personnel.

Korkmaz also mentioned that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident, and the two people affected by the smoke were in good health. He further stated, “The fire is under control, and our cooling efforts are ongoing.”

Overall, the incident caused damage to the factory property and some neighboring buildings, and two vehicles were completely destroyed by the fire. However, the quick response of the firefighting teams prevented any casualties or serious injuries, ensuring the safety of the individuals involved.
