After finalizing her divorce from Ben Affleck in 2018, Jennifer Garner built a stunning $7.9 million farmhouse in the hills of Los Angeles, the same place where Affleck sought solace during his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. Garner, 52, loves opening her home to family and friends, and often speaks about her children and how they use the space. She enjoys having the living room doors wide open during the summer and has a slumber party room where her kids and their friends can gather to watch movies.

Garner shares her three children – Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel – with Affleck, and she keeps their favorite childhood toys in the house for kids who visit. She initially struggled to find a house that offered the privacy she desired, so she decided to build her own dream home with the help of architects Steve and Brooke Giannetti. The house is designed to feel old, cool, and historic while also functioning as a comfortable space for a large family.

The actress enlisted the help of architect Steve Giannetti to bring her vision of a warm, family home to life. The house includes custom features like a Harry Potter-themed hideaway for Samuel, a saltwater aquarium, and a reading nook with stained-glass windows. Garner recalls a magical night when all her children piled into the cozy reading spot with her to read childhood stories. She also has a backyard orchard and a “vegetable house” where she grows a variety of produce using a sustainable greywater system.

Despite being a private person, Garner wanted to share her home with Architectural Digest because she is proud of the accomplishment of building it herself. She expresses gratitude every time she walks into her house and feels lucky to be able to live there with her children. The house is a reflection of her love for her family, with thoughtful custom features and spaces designed to bring people together. Garner hopes that sharing her home with others will inspire them to create spaces that bring joy and warmth to their own lives.
