Olympic champion ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin recently attended the Naeem Khan show during New York Fashion Week as she shops for wedding attire. Shiffrin announced her engagement to Norwegian ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde in April after meeting at a ski camp and being together for over three years. Shiffrin, a five-time overall World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, donned a glittering Naeem Khan evening gown at the event, sharing her excitement about the beautiful bridal collection.

After New York Fashion Week, Shiffrin will be returning to the slopes to continue her training for upcoming competitions. She mentioned being in Chile for three weeks for training on snow and then heading back to Colorado to prepare for races in Argentina. Shiffrin is the only one on her team that participates in both speed and tech races, which requires her to travel to unique locations to train for events like slalom, super-G, and downhill.

Shiffrin and her fiancé are planning to tie the knot after the 2026 winter Games but have not yet decided on a wedding location. With Kilde being from Norway, Shiffrin from Colorado, and their shared love for Maui, there are various options on the table. They are considering a mountain wedding, an oceanfront ceremony, or even a destination wedding in Europe. Kilde is currently recovering from a serious crash during a World Cup downhill race in Switzerland, where he suffered several injuries including a dislocated shoulder and torn ligaments, but Shiffrin shared that he is doing well.

Despite dealing with a left knee injury, Shiffrin managed to secure her eighth World Cup slalom-season title in March. Naeem Khan’s fashion show at New York Fashion Week featured various romantic ivory dresses suitable for a wedding followed by intricately beaded and embroidered evening gowns. Khan ended the show with a collaboration with Universal Studios for a “Wicked” collection that will coincide with the release of the film adaptation starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Shiffrin was in awe of the designs and expressed her admiration for the artistry of the designers.

Shiffrin’s experience at the Naeem Khan show left her speechless, and she took to Instagram to share her excitement and appreciation for the stunning designs showcased. With her fiancé recovering from a severe racing accident and her own comeback from a knee injury, Shiffrin is looking ahead to future competitions and training sessions. As she continues to balance her personal life with her professional skiing career, Shiffrin remains focused on her goals and aspirations both on and off the slopes.
