Passengers on a luxury cruise have found themselves stranded in Belfast as their ship undergoes urgent repairs. Amid the unexpected stay in Northern Ireland, guests have had the chance to explore Belfast and form connections with each other. Angela Harsanyi and Gian Perroni, who were set to embark on the lengthy voyage together, announced their engagement after growing close during their time in Belfast. The couple found that their shared experiences in the city led them to believe they were meant to be together.

Harsanyi, a 53-year-old from Colorado, and Perroni, a 62-year-old from Canada, formed a strong bond during their daily walks to the ship, discovering that they had plenty in common and enjoyed each other’s company. The couple now plans to marry on board the ship in April as it sails between the Panama Canal and Costa Rica. The ship’s captain will officiate the ceremony as guests celebrate the union with a “gigantic wedding.”

The cruise passengers have the option to rent or purchase their villas on board, with prices ranging from $120,600 to $348,300. Harsanyi purchased her villa with her sister Lisa, who will be joining her on the cruise in the near future. Perroni has no qualms about Harsanyi sharing her villa with her sister, appreciating her need for a girls’ trip before they tie the knot. Both Harsanyi and Perroni made the decision to join the cruise as a way to make a significant change in their lives.

Harsanyi reveals that she felt the need to make a dramatic change in her life about 2½ years ago, prompting her decision to buy a villa on board the cruise ship. Living in Colorado without access to the ocean, she wanted to experience a complete change from her comfortable, familiar surroundings. Perroni, on the other hand, was tired of his monotonous routine and felt an immediate pull towards the cruise when he first learned about it. Both Harsanyi and Perroni were seeking something new and exciting, leading them to take the leap and join the cruise.

As the ship prepares to set sail once again, Perroni and Harsanyi are looking forward to enjoying their time at sea together. Despite the happy memories they have created in Belfast, Harsanyi admits that she will miss the vibrant, friendly community and lively atmosphere of the city. She appreciates the beauty and resilience of Belfast, praising its welcoming locals, lively bars, stunning architecture, and breathtaking landscapes. While she would have loved to stay longer in Belfast, she is excited to continue her journey with Perroni and make new memories as they sail towards their next destination.
