A tragic incident occurred at a transportation and tourism company in Denizli’s Merkezefendi district in Bozburun Mahallesi around 4:30 PM. The elevator cable of the three-story building used as the office of the company fell for an unknown reason, causing the elevator with 4 people inside to crash to the ground.

After the incident was reported to the 112 emergency call center, fire brigade, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality fire brigade teams mobilized to rescue the four people trapped in the elevator due to the accident.

The individuals named as Ismail K, Tolgahan A, Oğuzhan Mete Y, and Amil A of Iranian descent, who were injured in the elevator accident, were finally rescued from the elevator shaft after a long struggle by the fire brigade teams.

The four individuals sustained fractures and injuries to various parts of their bodies, and after receiving initial medical interventions at the scene, they were transferred to two different hospitals in the city for further treatment. It was reported that one of the injured persons was in critical condition.

An investigation was launched into the incident, and company officials stated that the elevator, in which 4 people were injured, had passed a routine maintenance check without any issues just last week. The cause of the cable failure leading to the elevator crash is currently under investigation.

This unfortunate accident serves as a reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and checks on elevators and other machinery to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
