Easy A was an instant success when it hit the cinemas in 2010, grossing over $75 million worldwide. The teen comedy, directed by Will Gluck, follows Olive Pendergast, played by Emma Stone, a high school student who lies about losing her virginity and is labeled as promiscuous by her classmates. Olive then becomes a self-proclaimed ‘Easy A’ and offers fake sexual favors to other students for money. The film was partially inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel The Scarlet Letter.
