Duzce Municipality Fire Department staff congratulated each other on the new year at midnight. However, as they were celebrating, the fire alarms began to ring with a report of a shack fire.
The firefighters quickly geared up and got into their vehicles after receiving the necessary equipment, reaching the fire site in Fevzi Cakmak Neighborhood on the D-100 highway within approximately 4 minutes.
Once at the scene, the teams were able to bring the fire under control, rescuing around 20 geese from the barn section and moving them to safety.
The shack, which was used as a storage and barn, was completely destroyed by the fire and deemed unusable. The quick response and efficient action of the firefighters prevented the flames from spreading further and saved the lives of the animals inside.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dedication and commitment of the fire department personnel, who risk their lives every day to protect the community and respond to emergencies promptly.
