According to a statement from the governorship, operations against drug dealers were carried out in Bitlis, Batman, and Van between April 16 and 23 under the coordination of the Bitlis and Güroymak republic prosecutors.

With the support of special operations teams, 12 suspects were detained during the operations, of which 11 were arrested by the court they were brought before, and one suspect was released under judicial control.

During the searches of the suspects’ residences, 2.7 kilograms of marijuana, 135 grams of synthetic drugs, 9 grams of heroin, 3 drug pills, 2 rifles, and 25 bullets were seized.

The governorship emphasized the importance of these operations in the fight against drug trafficking and stated that they will continue to target drug dealers to ensure the safety and security of the region.

The operations were considered to be successful in capturing a significant amount of illegal substances and weapons, leading to the arrest of several suspects involved in drug trafficking activities in the region.

The authorities urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking to help in the ongoing efforts to combat drug crimes and maintain law and order in the region.
