Edirne Province Police Department Narcotics, Smuggling, and Organized Crime (KOM), Intelligence Branch teams, supported by narcotics detector dog Carlos, and Kapıkule Border Gate Customs Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams conducted an operation against drug traffickers. As a result of the coordinated efforts of the teams, two trucks were stopped and searched within the Kapıkule Customs area.
With the participation of the detector dog Carlos, a search was conducted in the tractor part of the trucks, leading to the seizure of approximately 200,000 tablets and 58 kilograms 176 grams of Ecstasy pills worth 50 million Turkish Liras. Two suspects were detained in relation to the incident and their legal procedures are ongoing.
The successful operation was a result of the joint efforts of the police department and customs authorities in combating drug trafficking.
