The Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate of the Provincial Security Directorate conducted various operations and applications from 1-22 July targeting suspects wanted for crimes of buying, accepting, possessing, and trading drugs. During the operations, a total of 63 suspects with prison sentences and 18 suspects wanted for questioning had their statements taken and were apprehended.

The detained suspects were taken to the police station for further processing. Among the captured individuals was a drug dealer who was wanted with a red bulletin. The teams were able to locate the 32-year-old Alexander Gustafsson, who was sought by Sweden for “money laundering” and “drug trafficking” offenses, in Istanbul. The suspect, who was found to be using a fake identity of Polish nationality, was located at an address in Besiktas, and he was apprehended during an operation.

It was revealed that the suspect, who was sentenced to 11 years and 8 months in prison in 2022 for drug trafficking through crypto and network websites, was extradited to Sweden after the necessary procedures.
