Mama June Shannon has been sharing her weight loss journey with fans for over a decade, starting with her series “Mama June: From Not to Hot” which chronicled her gastric bypass surgery in 2015. The surgery helped her lose a significant amount of weight, but after plateauing, she began working with weight loss expert Kenya Crooks to rework her diet and exercise routine. By 2017, she had lost even more weight and was in the 160s, feeling confident and healthy.

However, after her daughter Anna Cardwell’s cancer diagnosis, Shannon’s stress levels increased, and she found herself gaining back 120-130 pounds from her previous weight loss. This weight regain, while not uncommon after weight loss surgery, prompted Shannon to consider revisional bariatric surgery. However, she learned that she was not a good candidate for the procedure due to her stomach remaining the same size and the hole leading to her stomach not being enlarged.

Despite hitting a standstill in her weight loss journey, Shannon started taking weight loss injections to help curb her appetite. She shared her progress with her social media followers, noting that after taking weight loss medication for a month, she had lost 16 pounds. By the end of June, she had lost 30 pounds and shared that she was losing an average of four to five pounds a week. With the help of weight loss medication and a revamped diet and exercise routine, Shannon continued to see progress in her weight loss journey.

In addition to using weight loss medication, Shannon began hitting the gym more often and incorporating vibration plate exercises into her routine. She also revamped her diet, increasing her protein intake and making healthier food choices. She shared her journey with her social media followers, admitting that her family thought she was being too strict, but she knew it was what she needed to achieve her goals of a healthier lifestyle.

Shannon set a goal weight of 170-180 pounds for herself, hoping to reach it by December. She shared her progress with her TikTok followers, revealing that she hoped to be down to 230-235 pounds by July 16. Despite the setbacks and challenges she has faced in her weight loss journey, Shannon remains committed to reaching her goals and living a healthier life for herself and her family. As she continues to share her progress with her fans, Shannon’s weight loss journey serves as an inspiration to others facing similar struggles.
