In a recent interview, actor and former WWE star Dave Bautista revealed that he had lost 75 pounds in recent months, after gaining weight for a specific movie role in 2023’s “Knock at the Cabin”. Bautista explained that he had gained weight quickly by eating a lot of french fries and pancakes, but after filming was over, he felt uncomfortable and decided to lose the weight. He stated that as he trimmed down, he felt better and looked better on camera beside other actors. While some fans expressed concern about his weight loss, Bautista reassured them that he was doing it in a healthy way.

Bautista didn’t disclose his specific workout routine for losing weight, but mentioned that he is training hard and restricting his calorie intake to around 2500 calories per day. He also practices intermittent fasting and avoids eating within three to four hours before going to bed. Bautista emphasized that he is not starving himself and that he feels fine with the reduced intake. His diet consists mainly of a plant-based diet with fish a couple of times a week, as well as supplements like CoQ10, ribose, and fish oil. Bautista incorporates almond butter and banana or vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese as his go-to snacks between meals while working.

When it comes to workouts, Bautista revealed that he has transitioned from bodybuilding to incorporating more cardio into his routine, emphasizing that his favorite workout is squats. He enjoys weight training and also participates in other activities such as boxing, cycling, and martial arts. Bautista specified that the hardest workout he has ever done is fight training, which he described as HIIT training while getting punched in the face. He has his own boxing ring and utilizes an at-home spin bike for cardio. He mentioned that boxing is his preferred workout for the best cardio results.

Looking back at his dietary habits, Bautista reflected on his past consumption of red meat, pork, poultry, and dairy, but revealed that he had to cut them out due to allergies. He now focuses on fish, eggs, and plans to eventually transition to a vegan diet. Bautista shared that his contracts include provisions for him to eat every four hours while on set, and he incorporates his favorite meals such as sushi and vegan, gluten-free grilled cheese. Bautista’s dedication to his health and fitness routine showcases his commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle while pursuing a successful career in Hollywood.
