The future of Graceland, Elvis Presley’s historic Memphis home, is in question as a strange series of events has set the late singer’s granddaughter, Danielle Riley Keough, against a mysterious company claiming to hold the deed to the property. A hearing is scheduled in the Shelby County Chancery Court to determine whether a foreclosure auction of Graceland can proceed, after Keough sued to block it. Keough inherited the property after her mother and Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away in January 2023.

Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC claims that Lisa Marie Presley defaulted on a $3.8 million loan, using Graceland as collateral. Keough disputes the existence of the loan and the legitimacy of Naussany Investments as a company, alleging that the documents are fraudulent. Despite Naussany providing a notarized promissory note signed by Lisa Marie Presley, Keough claims it is a forgery, and the notary public has denied ever notarizing any documents for her. Attempts to contact Naussany were fruitless, and Elvis Presley Enterprises has labeled their claims as fraudulent.

Elvis Presley Enterprises has confirmed that the claims made by Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC are illegitimate, stating that there is no foreclosure sale of Graceland. A temporary restraining order has been granted, preventing Naussany from proceeding with the sale. A hearing will determine whether the sale can move forward, with allegations that Naussany is a false entity created for fraudulent purposes. Lisa Marie Presley’s estate was previously sold, but ownership of Graceland remained with her and her daughter, contributing to the current legal battle over the property.

Following Lisa Marie Presley’s passing, a dispute over the estate, including Graceland, arose between Keough and her grandmother, Priscilla Presley. After a settlement, Keough became the sole owner of Graceland. Graceland is a significant tourist attraction, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. Lisa Marie Presley’s earnings from Graceland were substantial, as indicated in court filings regarding her divorce in 2022, further emphasizing the importance of the property in the ongoing legal proceedings.

Danielle Riley Keough, born to Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough in 1989, is an established actor known for roles in films like “Mad Max Fury Road” and Hulu’s “Under the Bridge.” Starting her acting career in 2010, Keough has amassed several credits, with a recent role in “Daisy Jones & The Six.” In a piece for Vanity Fair, Keough revealed that she is a mother to a daughter named Tupelo Storm Smith-Petersen, born in 2022 via surrogate. The name pays tribute to her late brother, Benjamin Storm Keough, who passed away in 2020 and also honors Elvis’ birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi.
