Chynna Phillips and her husband Billy Baldwin are trying out a new living arrangement, as outlined by Phillips in a video uploaded to her YouTube channel. The couple, who have been married since 1995, are currently doing a test run of living in separate homes in Santa Barbara and Beverly Hills. Despite living apart, they still meet up for date nights, therapy, and dinners with their three children. Phillips explained that they can have “sleepovers” and spend several days together when they want, but they aren’t forcing themselves to be together 24/7.

In the video, Phillips and Baldwin hopped on a FaceTime call where they discussed their decision to live separately. Phillips expressed that they enjoy each other’s company and are madly in love, but need some time apart because they are an “allergy” to each other. Baldwin jokingly mentioned having conjugal visits. Phillips further commented on their decision in the video’s caption, stating that they are structuring a living situation that works for both of them. She acknowledged that it might seem crazy, but they believe they are onto something and want to see if distance truly makes the heart grow fonder.

Phillips has been open about the ups and downs in her marriage with Baldwin. She previously filed for divorce in 2010 but quickly withdrew the papers, admitting that she felt their marriage had become focused on their children and businesses while missing the connection they once had. More recently, Phillips revealed that her increased interest in religion had caused a power struggle between her and Baldwin. She stated that they had previously separated for six months, but did not specify when this separation occurred.

In January, Phillips shared during a YouTube livestream that she and Baldwin needed to mature and grow in their relationship. She expressed that she was not the same person she was 30 years ago and refused to have the same marriage they had in the past. While Baldwin was on board with the changes, he also felt that they were not into the same things anymore. Phillips asked her followers to keep praying for Baldwin because he was confused about where they stood, admitting that she felt the same way. Despite their unconventional living arrangement, Phillips and Baldwin are continuing to work on maintaining their marriage and finding a balance that works for both of them.
