Fashion designer Chad Nazam is gaining popularity for his unique stuffed animal pants, which he sells through his brand Le Rêve Nazam. The 22-year-old Virginian has sewn at least 200 stuffed animals onto the legs of wearable pants, creating a bizarre yet eye-catching design that has caught the attention of many in the online fashion world. Nazam’s $650 pants are not your typical boring fashion piece, and he aims to disrupt the industry with his unconventional creations.

The stuffed animal pants, reminiscent of Beanie Babies, come with four pockets and weigh five pounds. Despite their bulky appearance, they are handmade by a team of sewers, including Nazam’s 79-year-old grandmother. The stuffed animals are only on the front of the pants, making them more comfortable to wear while still being a bold fashion statement. Celebrities like wrestler Jade Cargill, Thai actress Araya Alberta Hargate, and K-pop rapper BamBam have been seen rocking Nazam’s plush pants, sparking intrigue and conversation wherever they go.

Even football players like DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks and entrepreneurs like Jason Bitton are embracing the stuffed animal pants trend. Metcalf sported the fuzzy bottoms on game day, while Bitton wore them courtside to a Toronto Raptors game, receiving plenty of attention and photo requests. Despite being a niche fashion piece, Nazam’s teddy bear pants have been selling well since they were introduced in April. Demand is increasing, and Nazam has sold hundreds of pairs in the past year, with potential for production to be outpaced by demand in the future.

While Nazam’s stuffed animal pants have garnered significant attention, he was not the first to explore this idea. Another clothing designer, Tierra Gray from Las Vegas, has been sewing mini stuffed animals onto pants since 2022. Gray’s fully beared-up pants feature 1,300 plush animals and took her four months to sew by hand. She sells her Mini Stuffed Animal Sweat Pants on her Etsy page, PlanetSugaKush, for $350, along with other stuffed animal wearables like slippers, beanies, tote bags, and more. Despite the similar concept, Nazam claims he had not seen Gray’s designs before creating his own.

Nazam and Gray’s stuffed animal clothing designs have captured the attention of fashion enthusiasts seeking unique and attention-grabbing pieces. The trend towards unconventional and bold fashion statements continues to grow, with designers like Nazam and Gray leading the way in creating eye-catching wearable art. Whether it’s celebrities rocking these plush pants or everyday individuals looking to stand out and spark conversation, the stuffed animal clothing trend shows no signs of slowing down. As demand grows and production struggles to keep up, these designers are paving the way for a new era of creative and expressive fashion.
