Carla Bruni, a former supermodel, singer-songwriter, and first lady of France, has ventured into the world of winemaking by introducing her elegant rosé wine, Roseblood d’Estoublon, to the U.S. The wine is produced on a picturesque Provençal estate and has received an outstanding rating of 90 from Wine Spectator. Bruni expressed her love for winemaking at the launch party in New York, where she performed a short set, with her husband Nicolas Sarkozy in attendance. She compared winemaking to music, describing it as a very creative process that she finds magical.

Bruni and Sarkozy collaborated with friends to purchase a 495-acre domaine in Fontvieille in 2020. The estate features an 18th-century castle, fragrant rose gardens, olive oil production, and organically farmed vineyards. The luxurious 22-room residence on the property is available for buyouts and boasts amenities such as a movie theater, fitness studio, library, and outdoor pool. Guests can also enjoy tours, tastings, and meals at the on-site restaurant, La Table d’Estoublon, which serves local specialties and the château’s wines.

While Sarkozy does not drink, Bruni actively participated in creating the label’s rosé wine despite having no prior knowledge about wine. She described the learning process as being like a pupil, observing and tasting to provide input and preferences. Bruni appreciates the sensual and transgressive aspects of the wine’s name and enjoys pairing it with a variety of cuisines, finding it to be a versatile wine choice.

Born in Turin and raised in Paris, Bruni began her career as a successful model before transitioning to music. She has released multiple albums and sold millions of copies, with her debut album spending significant time in the top ten of the French albums chart. Bruni married Sarkozy in 2008, and they have a daughter together. She also has a son from a previous relationship who recently made his runway debut at a Versace show. Bruni shared her pride in her son’s intellectual pursuits, contrasting his dedication to studies with her own lack of focus during her academic years.

Despite her late entry into writing new music, Bruni is currently working on an album set for release next year. Describing herself as slow in her creative process, she expressed enthusiasm for the currently underway writing phase. Bruni’s music career and foray into winemaking showcase her diverse talents and interests, combining her passions for creativity, artistry, and exploration. Her wine label, Roseblood d’Estoublon, offers a glimpse into her evolving journey as an artist and entrepreneur in the world of luxury goods.
