Today the requests for the Ecobonus program will restart, with the platform for booking incentives for the purchase of low-emission vehicles becoming active at 10 am. Managed by Invitalia on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit), the website will offer forms for requesting the bonus and tables outlining the criteria for receiving the contributions by vehicle category. The Ecobonus 2024, promoted by Minister Adolfo Urso, has resources amounting to 950 million euros, with an additional 50 million allocated for L vehicles (scooters and motorcycles) for the current year, totaling one billion euros. Among the new features are proportional contributions based on the environmental class of the vehicle being scrapped, including Euro 5 cars. Purchases of electric, plug-in hybrid, and traditional motor vehicles with CO2 emissions up to 135 g/km, as well as electric and non-electric motorcycles and light commercial vehicles, are facilitated.

The maximum price, including optional features (excluding VAT), should not exceed 35 thousand euros for cars in the 0-20 g/km range (electric) and 61-135 g/km range (traditional), and 45 thousand euros for the 21-60 g/km range (plug-in hybrids). The maximum contribution for purchasing a new electric vehicle, with scrapping of a vehicle up to Euro 2, will increase from 5 thousand to 13,750 euros for individuals with an Isee below 30 thousand euros. The aim of the measure is to incentivize the scrapping of the most polluting cars (Euro classes 0, 1, 2, and 3), which currently represent 25% of the circulating fleet. To achieve this goal, a contribution of up to 2,000 euros is provided for the purchase of used Euro 6 vehicles with emissions up to 160 g/km CO2, when scrapping a Euro 4 vehicle. Contributions are also available for the installation of new LPG and methane systems for vehicles no older than Euro 4, with 400 euros for LPG systems and 800 euros for methane systems.

During booking, individuals must provide a declaration regarding purchases made, stating they will retain ownership of the purchased vehicle for at least 12 months. For legal entities, a statement of retaining ownership for at least 24 months is required, while for SMEs, a sworn declaration concerning compliance with SME requirements and certification regarding the transportation of goods for their own account or on behalf of others is necessary. Those with an Isee below 30,000 euros are entitled to a 25% increased contribution, but will need to provide a sworn declaration of income and that all household members have not already received the same benefit, along with copies of identification and tax codes for the purchaser and family members.
