A Bronx prosecutor named William C.C. Kemp-Neal resigned from his position in the Bronx District Attorney’s office after being caught on video allegedly trying to meet a young boy he communicated with online. The video was posted by the group Dads Against Predators, and it showed Kemp-Neal in a parking lot in Mount Vernon. The incident occurred on July 8, and Kemp-Neal quickly ran when approached by the video vigilantes.

Kemp-Neal, who graduated from Fordham Law in 2021, made $84,990 as an ADA and primarily handled cases involving assault, harassment, and child endangerment. In the video, the men give chase and accuse Kemp-Neal of coming to meet a 13-year-old boy. The pursuit ended with a random man intervening and placing Kemp-Neal in a chokehold, causing him to struggle to breathe. The situation escalated as one of the men interrogated Kemp-Neal about his intentions.

Mount Vernon Police responded to the scene but no arrests were made. However, they acknowledged that there were allegations of wrongdoing and promised a thorough investigation. Kemp-Neal has not been charged with any crime, despite the disturbing video evidence. According to a statement from the DA’s office, Kemp-Neal resigned from his position on July 17, 2024, after working as an ADA for just over four years. He has not commented on the incident.

The video footage of Kemp-Neal’s encounter with the internet vigilantes has sparked outrage and concern about the prevalence of online child predators. It serves as a warning to parents and guardians about the dangers that children face in the digital world. The incident highlights the importance of educating young people about online safety and monitoring their internet activity to protect them from potential predators.

The swift resignation of Kemp-Neal from his position as a prosecutor raises questions about the screening process for individuals working in sensitive roles. The fact that he was able to hold a position of authority dealing with cases involving child endangerment while allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior is troubling. It underscores the need for increased vigilance and accountability in the criminal justice system to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The incident involving Kemp-Neal also sheds light on the work of internet vigilantes who take it upon themselves to expose and confront potential predators. While their methods may be controversial, their actions have brought attention to the issue of online child safety and have led to the removal of individuals who pose a threat to vulnerable members of society. However, the incident also raises concerns about vigilantism and the potential risks associated with confronting suspected predators in public settings.
