Maria Rosaria Boccia, the Campanian influencer at the center of the case that led Gennaro Sangiuliano to resign as Minister of Culture, did not participate in the program “È sempre Cartabianca” on Rete 4, as announced. Today she has shared her reasons for this decision just before the live broadcast, when she was already at the Mediaset studios at Palatino preparing for makeup. She felt that there was no intention to listen to the truth, but rather to turn the situation into a political and gossip debate. Boccia expressed her truth as always through Instagram. She stated that they had not discussed the second block or the type of questions that would have been asked during the 2 hours she was detained in the dressing room, despite the insistent attempts to make her participate in the show against her will.

Boccia had wanted to participate out of “love for the Republic and Democracy.” She stated that it is her right to protect the truth of her dignity and honor, especially for the love of the Italian Republic and Democracy. She expressed concerns about the potential shift towards a new form of government if actions are driven by caprice, hinting at a possible dictatorship. Bianca Berlinguer, the host of the program, expressed her surprise at the situation, mentioning that in all her years of profession, she had never experienced such a turn of events. Berlinguer explained that Boccia arrived at the studio ahead of time and had a long conversation with them, expressing that she felt they were not informed enough about her case and preferred to take another week before participating.

Due to the violation of the rule prohibiting the taking and dissemination of photos and videos without authorization, Maria Rosaria Boccia has been banned from accessing the premises of the Chamber of Deputies until further notice. The decision was made by the Committee for the security of Montecitorio, chaired by Sergio Costa. Additionally, Gennaro Sangiuliano is under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome and the Court of Auditors for peculation and disclosure and dissemination of official secrets. The investigation was launched after a complaint from Deputy Angelo Bonelli. The accusations revolve around the relationship between Sangiuliano and Boccia, who was involved in institutional activities without an official role.

The Court of Auditors in Lazio is also investigating possible financial damage related to Sangiuliano’s trips during his time as Minister of Culture. The magistrates are looking into hotel stays, travels, meals, dinners, and the potential use of official government cars. The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rome will transfer the case against Sangiuliano to the Court of Ministers, who will have 90 days to conduct the investigations. They will have the authority to listen to individuals and delegate investigatory tasks for the duration of the proceedings. The investigation may result in the closure of the case or a request for authorization to proceed further.

Sangiluliano also filed a complaint against Maria Rosaria Boccia, which is being processed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The ex-minister’s lawyer announced that they intend to present the complaint along with supporting documents detailing the sequence of events. They aim to prove the correctness of Sangiuliano’s conduct and suggest that he was subjected to undue pressure from Boccia. Despite the legal proceedings, Boccia remarked on social media that Sangiuliano had not apologized and continued to threaten legal action. Additionally, Sangiuliano recently met with the executives at Rai for his potential return to the company, although he emphasized the need for privacy and declined to make any statements to the press following the meeting.
