CultureCon 2024 brought together 22,000 Black creative professionals and entrepreneurs for a two-day camp-themed gathering in Brooklyn, New York. The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Cynthia Erivo, Yara Shahidi, and Law Roach, who shared insights on using one’s platform for change, building a successful career as a creator, finding balance, and avoiding burnout. Participants were encouraged to follow five camp rules: make a friend, stay curious, spread love, take care, and be brave.

Imani Ellis, the founder of CultureCon, explained that this year’s theme of camp was chosen to emphasize rest, play, and joy, qualities that can often be neglected in the adult world of work and stress. Attendees embraced the theme by dressing in eye-catching street style outfits and bold beauty looks that highlighted individuality and self-expression. From unique denim and cargo ensembles to come-as-you-are looks, the fashion at CultureCon reflected the spirit of creativity and happiness.

The event aimed to create a supportive and inspiring environment where Black creatives could connect, learn, and collaborate. Attendees had the opportunity to network with industry professionals, attend workshops and panel discussions, and participate in various activities designed to foster creativity and personal growth.
