Diablo 4 Season 4 is set to bring major changes to the game, with the theme of “Loot Reborn” from Blizzard. This update is compared to the Loot 2.0 update in Diablo 3 and includes significant alterations to the loot system to make it more rewarding for players. Some of the changes include removing unused affixes, making it easier to understand affixes, reducing total affixes on gear, and allowing for the trading of Legendary and Unique items among players.

Another significant change is the introduction of the Codex of Power, a new storage system that allows players to upgrade stored aspects up to 16 times to reach maximum potential. Aspects can be completed and applied to any piece of gear going forward, providing more customization options for players. Additionally, a new crafting system called Tempering allows players to add new affixes to gear using Tempering manuals that will be dropped from various content in the game.

Greater Affixes are the most powerful affixes in the game, dropping with 1.5x the values of other max rolls. These affixes can only be found on dropped Legendary or Unique items and can be enchanted into items but not crafted. Masterworking is another new system that allows players to upgrade affixes by 12 ranks, with the ability to reset and start the process over if desired.

One of the new endgame activities introduced in Season 4 is The Pit, where players can find Masterworking materials and Stygian Stones to summon level 200 Uber Bosses. Another new feature is Helltide Reborn, where players will generate Threat over time in a Helltide by slaying monsters and opening Tortured Gifts. When the Threat level reaches its peak, players will have to face a giant Agent of Hell and defeat it to reset the Threat level and receive loot.

The ritual feature in Diablo 4 Season 4 involves finding and depositing Baneful Hearts from the Helltide, then battling enemies and a Blood Maiden for a great reward upon death. Helltides are now available in World Tiers 1 and 2 for players to warm up to the new activity, with a new elixir called Profane Mindcage increasing the level of Helltide Monsters by 10 and boosting Cinder drop rates for this season only. Overall, Season 4 of Diablo 4 is introducing a plethora of changes and additions to the game to enhance the loot chase and overall player experience.
