Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the first landing and takeoff at the newly opened Çukurova International Airport on August 10th, Saturday with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was Turkish Airlines’ flight “TK2462” named “Gölbaşı”.

Uraloğlu stated, “Our plane departed from Istanbul on August 11th and landed at Çukurova Airport at 11:45. The same plane took off from here at 13:00 to return to Istanbul.”

Minister Uraloğlu shared the data of the passenger and aircraft traffic at Çukurova International Airport within 24 hours. “As of August 12th at 11:30, a total of 74 aircraft traffic took place at Çukurova International Airport, with 48 domestic and 26 international flights. The number of passengers served reached a total of 11,108, with 7,486 domestic and 3,622 international passengers.”

“We will continue to raise the bar in regional aviation.”

Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that more than 10,000 passengers benefiting from Çukurova International Airport in a single day demonstrates the strong capacity of the region to meet the air transportation needs. “This passenger density clearly shows how much of an opportunity our airport offers not only for Adana and Mersin but for the entire region,” Uraloğlu said.

“The Çukurova International Airport will continue to prove itself in providing quality and safe service to every passenger arriving and departing from the region. Seeing such high passenger traffic immediately after the opening is a strong indicator of the interest and trust in the project. We will continue to raise the bar in regional aviation with Çukurova International Airport.”

Passengers who experienced Çukurova International Airport for the first time emphasized that the newly opened airport is spacious, clean, and comfortable. They also mentioned that the airport is not tiring and expressed their gratitude to the government, saying, “It is wonderful, thank you to our state.”
