An Arkansas father was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his daughter’s reported stalker, Michael Fosler, after finding him with his underage daughter. The 14-year-old had gone missing earlier that day, prompting Aaron Spencer to contact authorities. However, before deputies could arrive, Spencer discovered his daughter in a vehicle with Fosler, leading to a deadly confrontation.

The Spencers had previously obtained a “no contact order” against Fosler due to his alleged stalking and raping of their daughter over the summer. Fosler had been arrested in July for internet stalking of a child and sexual assault, but was released on bond. Neither parent was aware that Fosler had made contact with their daughter again, leading to the fatal altercation between Spencer and Fosler.

Following the shooting, Aaron Spencer was arrested on a preliminary charge of first-degree murder and booked into the Lonoke County Detention Center. He was released after posting bail the next day. The charge is not official, and the district attorney will determine whether to prosecute. Heather Spencer criticized the sheriff’s office for their handling of the case and expressed gratitude for the support they have received.

Sheriff John Staley stated that he does not support predators, emphasizing the need to protect children. Deputies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting to ascertain the justification for the father’s actions. Heather Spencer has appealed for donations towards her husband’s legal defense fees, setting up Venmo and CashApp accounts after a GoFundMe page was taken down due to the platform’s terms of service.

The family is focused on the daughter’s recovery and the potential legal proceedings that may follow. Heather praised her husband as a hero and emphasized the importance of ensuring he can continue to protect them. The case has sparked discussions about self-defense, protection of children, and the potential consequences faced by individuals who take the law into their own hands. As the investigation continues, the community awaits further developments in the case.
