Sales in Greater China, the third-largest market for Apple, declined by 8% to $16.37 billion but still outperformed analyst expectations. CEO Tim Cook highlighted positive iPhone sales growth in China during the quarter, easing concerns about market share losses to local rivals like Huawei.

Apple’s upcoming product events, including the iPad event in early May and the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, promise significant announcements according to Cook. The company’s dividend was increased by 1 cent to 25 cents per share, alongside the substantial buyback plan.
