Anthropic, a generative artificial intelligence startup, has announced its first enterprise offering, Team, and a free iPhone app. The company is known for its chatbot Claude, which has gained popularity in recent years. Anthropic, founded by ex-OpenAI research executives, has received funding from major tech companies like Google, Salesforce, and Amazon, totaling $7.3 billion. The Team plan, developed based on feedback from beta testing with customers in various industries, offers access to Anthropic’s latest AI models, admin tools, and billing management, with a focus on improving multi-step conversations and document processing for businesses.

The new Team plan costs $30 per user per month and requires a minimum of five users. In addition to the enterprise offering, Anthropic has also introduced its first iOS app, which is free for users across all plans. The app allows users to sync with web chats and upload photos and files from their smartphones. Anthropic is working on developing an Android app as well, with plans to launch it soon. The announcement of the Team plan and iOS app follows the debut of Claude 3, a suite of AI models that are said to outperform competitors like OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Gemini Ultra on industry benchmark tests.

The generative AI field has seen exponential growth in the past year, with billions of dollars invested in various deals. While the technology has raised concerns about bias and ethics, it has made its way into diverse industries such as education, healthcare, and advertising. Anthropic, which started as a relatively unknown startup last year, has now become a key player in the AI market, competing directly with established names like ChatGPT. Claude 3 can summarize large amounts of text, offering users the ability to input data sets and receive concise summaries in various formats.

In light of recent controversies over the military use of AI models, both Anthropic and OpenAI have implemented strict policies to prevent their technology from being used for harmful purposes. Anthropic maintains an acceptable use policy that prohibits the use of Claude for activities that could cause harm to individuals or promote violence. Despite its rapid rise in the AI market, Anthropic remains committed to responsible AI development and deployment, focusing on providing innovative solutions to businesses while upholding ethical standards. With the launch of the Team plan and iOS app, Anthropic continues to expand its offerings and reach in the competitive AI landscape.
