There is currently significant attention on the situation in Lebanon after Israel’s attack on the Unifil contingent. The President of the Senate, La Russa, expressed strong concern about the incident and called for it to be clarified quickly. The President of the Chamber, Fontana, also deemed it a very serious event. Meanwhile, internally, focus is on the budget law construction. Following approval of the resolution on the Structural Plan, the passage of the Program Budget Document in the Council of Ministers is awaited. The center-right is united on key points of the maneuver, supporting reductions in the tax wedge and income tax deductions, expanded to include incomes above 35 thousand euro, pension indexation, and resources for healthcare. No new taxes are anticipated. The debate is centered on resources and new revenue sources, in addition to spending cuts, concerning the revaluation of cadastral incomes for homes renovated with the 110% bonus and the restructuring of excise duties, measures already in place last year but Fi remains vigilant.

The bill includes measures for families and businesses with no new taxes, as well as the League, which, besides supporting the tax wedge and income tax reduction, is also contemplating pension revaluation and possible installment payment of the second installment of income tax in November. In the Chamber, COP is at 085, while in the Senate, it is at 145.
