Marvel Studios has announced the cast for its upcoming superhero team movie, The Fantastic Four. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby will lead the film as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman, with Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/the Thing. The movie is set for release in 2025 and marks the third big screen iteration of the popular comic book series.

The casting for The Fantastic Four was announced in February 2024 with a 1960s-inspired poster that paid homage to the characters’ origins. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 25, 2025, two months after Marvel’s Thunderbolts is released. Joining the main cast is Julia Garner, who will play Shalla-Bal, an incarnation of the iconic Silver Surfer. Plot details for the film are being kept under wraps, but the poster suggests that the characters might receive their powers through a space flight gone wrong.

The 2025 version of The Fantastic Four will be the first to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Prior to Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019, the film rights for Marvel characters, including the Fantastic Four, were owned by Fox. The characters have already made an appearance in the MCU, with John Krasinski making a cameo as Reed Richards in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The film will be directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on the Disney+ series, WandaVision.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Pedro Pascal expressed his excitement about being part of the cast for The Fantastic Four. He mentioned that working with director Matt Shakman and the rest of the cast felt like a dream come true. Moss-Bacharach also revealed that Pascal initiated a group chat for the cast. The film is expected to bring a fresh take on the beloved superhero team, with a new cast and director breathing new life into the franchise.

The release of The Fantastic Four in 2025 will mark the third adaptation of the popular comic book series. With a star-studded cast, including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the film is highly anticipated by fans of the superhero genre. As the first iteration of the Fantastic Four to be set in the MCU, the film is expected to bring a new level of excitement and crossover potential for fans of the Marvel universe. Director Matt Shakman’s involvement further adds to the anticipation surrounding the project.
