The Ukrainian Air Force reported that all 37 Shahed-131/136 drones launched by Russia overnight were shot down by air defense on May 19. The Russian forces targeted eight regions across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia oblasts. While the drone attacks were repelled, regional governors reported that other deadly weapons, such as KAB aerial guided bombs and artillery, threatened and killed civilians over the past day. Throughout the ongoing full-scale war, Russia has consistently attacked both front-line areas and cities far from the battlefield. Ukrainian authorities are urging evacuations for civilians in heavily attacked regions in an effort to reduce casualties.

In southern Kherson Oblast, two people were killed and two others were wounded on May 19, with regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin reporting that Russian troops had targeted an unidentified port infrastructure and damaged several buildings in the region. In eastern Donetsk Oblast, one person was killed in Kurakhove, located southwest of the Russian-occupied city of Avdiivka. In the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, six individuals were wounded by a Russian KAB attack, including two children aged 13 and 16, according to Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov. Additionally, in northeastern Kharkiv Oblast, a 60-year-old woman was killed in Vovchansk and five others were wounded across the region.
