Police teams conducted an operation against fraud during sacrificial animal sales in the animal market in Sultangazi. As part of the operation, sellers were informed about the security features of the Turkish lira and simple methods to determine if a banknote is counterfeit.

The teams instructed sellers on how to identify whether a banknote is fake or real, emphasizing the importance of being cautious against types of fraud such as “snatching”, “pickpocketing”, and “swindling”.

Mehmet Demirci, a seller of sacrificial animals at the market, told reporters that he was unable to differentiate between fake and real money under normal circumstances. However, after the informative session, he expressed his satisfaction in being able to distinguish between the two.

Demirci also stated that he was pleased with the new knowledge he gained and believed it would be beneficial for future transactions. Another seller, Zafer Kurnaz, thanked the police teams for their informative efforts, acknowledging that the session was extremely useful for them.

Overall, the operation aimed to prevent fraud and educate sellers on how to detect counterfeit money, ultimately improving security measures in the market. The sellers’ positive reactions to the informative session reflected the success of the authorities’ efforts in tackling fraudulent activities in the area.
