The Direction of Roads in Ile-de-France (Dirif) has announced the total closure of a portion of the A13 highway due to infrastructure problems detected on the road between the viaduct and the Saint-Cloud tunnel. Both directions of traffic between the Parisian ring road and the town of Vaucresson in Hauts-de-Seine are no longer accessible to vehicles. The closure is expected to last until at least Monday as authorities assess the situation and plan necessary repairs before potentially reopening the highway next week.

In the late evening, the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture confirmed that the A13 highway will remain closed in both directions between Paris and Vaucresson until at least Monday. A decision regarding a potential reopening will be made based on ongoing surveillance and updates will be communicated later in the week. The closure was a result of a transverse crack observed in the A13 during scheduled maintenance on Thursday night, indicating a possible landslide in the area that has caused damage to the road and infrastructure below it.

The crack along the A13 near Saint-Cloud ranges from 50 to 80 centimeters deep and has caused fissures in the surrounding area, including an underground drainage structure located four meters beneath the highway. Authorities are conducting a diagnostic to determine the cause of the movement and assess the extent of the necessary repairs before reopening the road to traffic. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes or delay their travel in the affected area to avoid congestion and potential safety hazards.

To avoid the closed section of the A13, drivers are encouraged to take alternative routes such as using the A12 and N12 to reach Paris from Rocquencourt, or taking the N12 towards Versailles and then heading to Paris through the Saint-Cloud gate. It is recommended for all drivers to avoid the closed area and use alternative itineraries upstream, such as the A15 or A86, to minimize delays and traffic congestion. The closure has led to disruptions in commuter traffic, prompting authorities to provide guidance on navigating the affected area.
